Syosset is a small hamlet located on the northern side of Oyster Bay in Nassau County. 18,544 people call Syosset home, and many of them are famous. This hamlet is located on the North side of Long Island.

Although it is unincorporated, Syosset has its own school district, post office, fire department and train station. However, its water is supplied by the nearby village of Jericho.

Conveniently located near the interstate and the Jericho Turnpike, Syosset is largely a bedroom community, characterized by plenty of nice homes and that certain small town charm. However, several small businesses are in operation in the hamlet and the Chamber of Commerce works to help new business people get started with their own businesses. Syosset is definitely growing, while still maintaining its original values.

The Syosset/Woodbury park is an excellent place to spend a warm day, especially since they have a great pool, and this hamlet is very family friendly with plenty of restaurants and activities that everyone can enjoy.

Several famous novelists, professional athletes, musicians, a former United States Secretary of Labor and numerous actors and singers such as Natalie Portman and Alicia Keys all share Syosset at their original hometowns.
